FACE ON (www.face-on.com) is a virtual gallery for portrait photography, a coöperation bewteen Getty Images and the Antwerp FotoMuseum.
Everybody can upload a portrait he/she made his/herself trough the website. Since it is both an online and offline exposition, you even might show off your talent at the wall of the museum itself.
One of my pictures has already been uploaded, for you to discover it.
Maybe I should reward the first person who gives a comment at my picture.
90 jaar Nikon
Bij Nikon zijn ze jarig en speciaal voor de gelegenheid hebben ze voor u een filmpje gemaakt. Het resultaat is hier te zien en geeft een overzicht van historische gebeurtenissen en hoe die met Nikon camera’s werden opgenomen. Komt daarbij een overzicht van heel wat modellen die al lang passé zijn, muziek die daar naadloos bij aansluit, een amper enthousiaste commentaarstem en een overzicht dat maar blijft duren.
Zelf heb ik altijd een héél grote voorkeur gehad voor Nikon omwille van hun superieure lens kwaliteit en hun camera’s die niet naar beneden dwarrelen als je ze omhoog gooit (alsof iemand dat ooit zou doen, maar dat terzijde). Spijtig genoeg zijn hun filmpjes iets minder geslaagd, hopelijk beter binnen 10 jaar!

Via deze pagina kwam ik terecht op een reeks stillshots met als thema “coffee meets milk”. Een hele reeks foto’s van hetzelfde onderwerp, allemaal genomen door Irene Muller. Bekijk ook even haar website, waar nog heel wat andere knappe stillshots te vinden zijn.

Ophef in medialand over een fotoreportage die Steven Meisel maakte voor het Italiaanse Vogue magazine. Glamoureuze vrouwen met designer mode passen volgens heel wat mensen niet in een militaire setting. Vrouwen van mannelijke militairen en veteranen die nooit het genoegen kregen protesteren hevig. De militairen zelf, daar zal je wellicht geen klagen van horen. Belgische militairen in het buitenland wachten vol ongeduld op de volgende fotosessie voor Sloggi.

If you like good photography, a visit to Jon Roemer‘s website will be worth your time. I recently discovered his website and found some very nice pictures in his online portfolio. Jon knows how to use natural lightning to shoot buildings, houses and offices. His ‘architecture’ section is very nice, showing both commercial and residential spaces and buildings. Nice colors and razor sharp interiors, just like a good picture should be.
All over his portfolio, you will find several pictures that use the “Tilt-Shift Miniature Faking” technique. Making everything on the picture looking like a scale model. In case you like this kind of photography (I do), I highly recommend Cityshrinker, Flickr for more eye candy. Sites like PhotographyJam and Receding Hairline (what’s in a name) both have a short article about how to achieve the effect in Adobe Photoshop CS. Steven Erat’s weblog Talking Tree also has a nice article on this subject. Not enough? The famous Eskimokaka weblog gives you some more photographers/websites to visit.
